Swedish Trallpunk since 1999.
Varnagel from Stockholm/Sweden was born out of the 90s punk wave. During the first decade of the 2000s the band toured most parts of the country, including the festival Augustibuller. Varnagel shared stages with fellow punk bands such as Köttgrottorna, Slutstation Tjernobyl, Skumdum, Coca Carola, Mimikry, Radioaktiva Räker, Charta 77, Krymplings and UBBA. After a number of demos and two official releases on Kamel Records and Second Class Kids respectively, Varnagel was signed to Beat Butchers in 2005. The band’s production includes three albums, two EPs, a best-of compilation, a demo compilation, singles, cassettes and splits. Throughout the years, Varnagel has appeared on loads of punk compilations, for example two times on the now iconic “Definitivt 50 Spänn” series. 2008–2021 the band has been inactive except for a few shorter reunions over the years. In 2022, however, the band is back for real. The band has written and recorded a number of new songs which are planned to be released as a vinyl and digital album on Beat Butchers during the second half of 2022. During the year, a bunch of the songs will be released digitally and the band will do a limited number of live shows as well.
